Connect an HP printer to a local Wi-Fi network to wirelessly print from a personal computer, smartphone, or tablet.
Note:
If you are using a guest network, such as those found in many hotels or college campuses, connecting a device to your printer
might not be possible over the network. Instead, use a Wi-Fi Direct connection to print.
Additional Wi-Fi connection options
Use these methods to connect a printer if you changed your router or ISP, or a local network is unavailable.
Connect the printer with the Wireless Setup Wizard (printers with a touchscreen)
Use the Wireless Setup Wizard from the printer control panel to connect your printer to your Wi-Fi network.

Place the printer near the Wi-Fi router.

Open the Setup, Network, or Wireless settings menu, and then select Wireless Setup Wizard.

Select the name of your network, and then enter the password to complete the connection.
Note:
If the Wireless Setup Wizard is not listed, select Wi-Fi Protected Setup or WPS, select Push Button, and then follow the steps to connect to the network.

Connect the printer with the Wireless Setup Wizard (printers without a touchscreen)
Temporarily connect your computer or mobile device to your printer's local network connection and then run the Wireless Setup
Wizard from the printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS).

Open the list of available network connections on your device.
Note:
You can view the list of available networks in the Wi-Fi option of your device.

Select the network with HP=Setup <Your printer name> from the list, for example HP=Setup<EE_DeskJet 2700 series>, and then connect to the network. This connection is temporary and required to set up the network.

Open an internet browser, and then enter 192.168.223.1 in the address bar.
Note:
If Your connection is not private message displays, click Show Advanced, and then Proceed to 192.168.223.1(unsafe).

Enter the PIN found on the label located inside the cartridge access area.

Click Network > Wireless >
Wireless Setup Wizard >
Next.

Select the name of your Wi-Fi network, and then enter the network password.
The printer connects to the Wi-Fi network, and the Wireless light stops blinking.

If you are using a Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection, disconnect the VPN.

Once the printer is connected to the network, you can add the printer to the HP Smart app. For more information, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).
Connect the printer using Wi-Fi Protected Setup (printers without a touchscreen)
Use the Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) button on your router to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.

Place the printer near the Wi-Fi router.

Put the printer in Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) mode.

Printers without a touchscreen control panel: On the control panel, press and hold the Wi-Fi button for 5 seconds until the light starts flashing.

HP DeskJet 6000, 6400, ENVY 6000, 6400, and Tango printers: Press and hold the Wi-Fi and Power buttons on the back of the printer for 3 seconds until the Edge or Wireless light starts flashing.

Within two minutes, press and hold the WPS button on the router until the connection process begins.

Wait for the Wireless light or bar on the printer to stop flashing. The printer is now connected to the network.

Connect the printer using Wi-Fi Direct
Wi-Fi Direct is a method to temporarily connect your device directly to your printer.
