HP Thunderbolt Docking Stations - HP Dock Is Not Recognized When BIOS Security Level Is Set to 'Secure Connect'

DESCRIPTION
The dock is not recognized when the Thunderbolt Security Level is set to Secure Connect in the BIOS. When this occurs the BitLocker PIN code cannot be entered with an external keyboard attached. This occurs on the HP Thunderbolt docks listed in the SCOPE.

RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, set the Thunderbolt Security Level option to PCIe and DisplayPort - User Authentication.
NOTE: When set to this mode, approval is required for Thunderbolt devices to work with the Intel driver/application (Thunderbolt Secure Connect).
  1. Turn on or restart the computer.
  2. Press the F10 key to enter the BIOS Setup.
  3. Select Advanced.
  4. Select Thunderbolt Options.
  5. Select Thunderbolt Security Level.
  6. Change the Thunderbolt Security Level option to PCIe and DisplayPort - User Authentication.
  7. Select Save.
  8. Select Exit.
  9. Select Yes to save changes and exit the BIOS.
NOTE: An alternative method to authenticate at the POA sign-in screen is to use the computer keyboard instead of an external one to enter the BitLocker PIN code.
