DESCRIPTION
The barcode scanner no longer works and is no longer listed in Device Mangager after performing Reset this PC and selecting the Remove files and clean the drive option.

  • Microsoft Windows 10 RS2 (Version 1703)
RESOLUTION
Reinstall the HP Barcode Scanner H-Series USB COM Driver to resolve the issue using one of the following options:

NOTE: A more recent version of this software may be available. Check for newer versions at: http://www.hp.com/drivers
Option 2: Use HP Recovery Manager
  1. Launch HP Recovery Manager.
  2. Click Hardware Driver Reinstallation.
  3. Locate and select HP Barcode Scanner H-Series USB COM Driver in the list of factory installed drivers.
  4. Click Next.
note:
The above options are just suggestions and are not specifically required to resolve the issue. Any other method of reinstalling the driver will also resolve the issue.
