HP Tango Printers - Replacing Ink Cartridges

This document is for HP Tango and Tango X printers.
This document contains steps for replacing the ink cartridges.

Replace the ink cartridges

Replace any critically low or empty ink cartridges.
  1. Turn on the printer, and then open the printer lid.
  2. Load plain white paper into the input tray.
  3. Make sure the output tray or wrap is extended.

  4. Gently press down on the Ink Door button to release the ink cartridge access door, and then lift the door until it stays in place.

  5. Wait until the carriage is idle and silent before you continue.
  6. Lift up the ink cartridge latch to release it, and then remove the ink cartridge.

  7. Remove the new ink cartridge from its package. Be careful to touch only the black plastic on the ink cartridge.

  8. Remove the plastic tape from the new ink cartridge, and then discard or recycle the package and tape.
      caution:
    Do not touch the copper-colored contacts or the ink nozzles. Handling these parts can result in clogs, ink failure, and bad electrical connections.

  9. With the nozzles toward the printer, insert the ink cartridge into its slot, and then squeeze the ink cartridge until it snaps into place.

    Install the color ink cartridge on the left and the black ink cartridge on the right.

  10. Repeat these steps to install the other ink cartridge, if necessary.
  11. Lower the ink cartridge access door, and then press gently to lock it in place.
    After you install new ink cartridges, the printer aligns the ink cartridges and prints an alignment page.
