  10. Lower the ink cartridge access door, and then press gently to lock it into place.
After you install the ink cartridges, the printer prints an alignment page.
  11. Wait for the alignment page to fully eject from the printer.

Step 5: Connect the printer to a network

Use the HP Smart app to connect the printer to a wireless network. HP Smart is a free app that helps you quickly and easily connect your printer to the network and manage printer settings. It is available for Android, Apple iOS, Windows 10, and macOS. If you are using a computer with Windows 8.1 (and earlier), use the WPS method to connect the printer to your network.
You can print a Wireless Quick Start Guide to help you set up your printer. Touch and hold the Information button on the control panel for at least 3 seconds. When the other control panel buttons light up, touch the Information button again to print a Wireless Quick Start Guide, and then follow the steps on the printed page.

Step 6: Enroll in HP Instant Ink (optional)

Your printer is eligible for HP Instant Ink, which can reduce your printing costs and save you time. After you enroll, your printer automatically monitors the printer ink levels, and then HP Instant Ink mails replacement ink cartridges when levels are low.
