HP LaserJet MFP Products - Configuring the Send to Folder Settings

See the following information on how to configure the Network Folder to receive all scanned documents from the MFP directly. This information is applicable to the following HP LaserJet MFP products:
  • HP Color LaserJet 4730 Multifunction Printer series

Apart from the Send to Email option, it is also possible to also configure the Send to Folder option to scan documents and send them to the Network Folder in PDF and other supported formats.
Follow the Step by Step instructions listed below to configure the Shared Network Folder:
  1. Create a Folder in the System (Example: on the Desktop).
  2. Share the folder with Full Access Permissions.
  3. Access the Embedded Web Server (EWS) for the MFP using IP address.
  4. Under the Settings tab, make sure the Show - Network Folder option is selected under Home Screen Setup as shown in the Figure below.
  5. Click on the Digital Sending Tab and Send to Folder option.
    1. Check Enable Send to Folder.
    2. Click theAdd button under Quick Sets as shown in the Figure below.
    3. Enter the Alias name and then click on Add Folder button.
  6. Enter the required settings in each step.
    1. Under Step 1 - Select Shared Folder.
    2. Under Step 2 - Enter the Computer Path.
    3. Under Step 3 - Enter the Access Credentials details (Username and Password).
    4. Now click Test Folder Access to verify the entered Settings.
  7. If the entered settings are correct, a confirmation message stating Access to the folder is verified will be displayed. If not then check the settings and try reconfiguring with the correct settings.
  8. Now try SCAN TO FOLDER/NETWORK FOLDER from the MFP and the Folder name listed on MFP Control Panel and the scanned document will be visible in the Folder on the PC.
