HP ENVY 100 e-All-in-One Printer Series (D410) - Setting up the All-in-One (Hardware)

Introduction
This document explains how to set up the physical parts of the product. Complete these steps before you install the product software on your computer.
This document includes the following steps to set up the product:
  • Unpack the All-in-One
  • Connect the power cord
  • Turn on power
  • Follow the control panel instructions
  • Load plain paper
  • Install the cartridges
  • Align the All-in-One
Setting up a new All-in-One
Follow these steps to set up the product hardware and install the software.
Step one: Unpack the All-in-One
  1. Remove all the tape from the front and back of the product.

  2. Open the access door, and then remove all the packaging materials from inside the product.

Step two: Connect the power cord
  1. Connect the power cord to the back of the product, and then connect to the electrical outlet.

Step three: Turn on power
Press the Power button () to turn on the product.

Step four: Follow the control panel instructions
  1. Lift the adjustable control panel for easier viewing.

  2. Follow the control panel prompts to finish setting up the product.

Step five: Load plain paper
Follow these steps to load paper in the product.
  1. Grasp the lip on the paper tray, and then pull the tray towards you to extend it.

  2. Slide the paper width guide to its outermost position.
  3. Insert the stack of paper into the input tray with the short edge forward and the print side down.
  4. Push the stack of paper all the way forward, and then adjust the paper width guide so that it rests against the edge of the paper.

  5. Push the tray forward to close it.
Step six: Install the cartridges
Follow these steps to install the cartridges.
  1. Press the Power button () to turn on the product, if it is not already turned on.
  2. Open the access door. The carriage moves to the center of the product. Wait until the carriage is idle and silent before proceeding.

  3. On the new cartridge, pull the pink pull-tab straight back to remove the plastic wrap.

  4. Lift the lid on the carriage slot.

  5. Hold the cartridge at a slight upward angle with the cartridge contacts facing the rear of the product, and then slide the cartridge into the empty slot.
    Make sure that the color of the cartridge matches the color on the cartridge lid.
    • The tri-color cartridge goes in the slot on the left.
    • The black cartridge goes in the slot on the right.

  6. Close the lid on the carriage slot to secure the cartridge.

  7. Repeat these steps to install the other cartridge.
  8. Close the access door. The carriage returns to the right side of the product.

Step seven: Align the All-in-One
  1. After loading plain white paper, touch Setup () on the product control panel.
  2. Touch Tools, and then touch Align Printer. The alignment process automatically starts, and the alignment page prints.
