This document applies to HP and Compaq computers with Windows Vista.
The following message displays on the screen and interrupts the work or play being done at the computer:
Sticky Keys. Do you want to turn on Sticky Keys? Sticky Keys lets you use the SHIFT, CTRL, ALT, or Windows Logo keys by pressing one key at a time. The keyboard shortcut to turn on Sticky Keys is to press the SHIFT key 5 times.

To prevent this message from displaying, perform the following steps:

Click Go to the Ease of Access Center to disable the keyboard shortcut. The Ease of Access Center opens.

Click Set up Sticky Keys. The Set up Sticky Keys window opens.

In the Keyboard shortcut area, click to remove the check from Turn on Sticky Keys when SHIFT is pressed five times.

Click Cancel to close the Ease of Access Center.
