HP Photosmart A430 Series Portable Photo Studio - Printing Directly from a USB-Connected Digital Camera to your Printer

Introduction
This document describes how to print from a camera connected to the printer by a USB cable. The camera has two USB ports, the PictBridge port on the front of the printer and a USB port on the back of the printer.
Print the photo from a PictBridge camera
Follow the steps below to print photos from a PictBridge-compatible camera.
  1. Verify that the camera is PictBridge compatible. Check this at the following website: http://www.cipa.jp/pictbridge/CertifiedModels/PictBridgeCertifiedModels_E.html (in English).
      note:
    The web page is divided into separate sections for cameras and printers. Be sure you check the camera section to locate your camera.
  2. Load photo paper into the printer.
  3. Turn on the camera.
  4. Select the photos you want to print.
  5. Place the camera into PictBridge mode. Follow the steps below for HP digital cameras or check the camera User Guide for other manufacturers.
    1. Press OK/Menu on the camera.
    2. Press the right arrow key and until Settings/Setup displays.
    3. Scroll down to USB and use the up and down arrow keys to select Digital Camera mode.
  6. Connect the camera to the PictBridge port on the front of the printer using the USB cable supplied with the camera.

  7. When the camera is detected by the printer, follow the instructions on the LCD screen on the camera to print the photos.
Print the photo from an HP direct-printing camera
  1. Load photo paper into the printer.
  2. Turn on the HP direct-printing digital camera and select the photos you want to print.
  3. Connect the camera to the Universal Serial Bus (USB) port on the back of the printer using the USB cable that came with the camera.

  4. Follow the instructions on the LCD screen on the camera to print the photos.
