Precision Boost Overdrive for AMD Ryzen CPUs
Precision Boost Overdrive is a technology built into the latest AMD Ryzen processors that serves as the replacement for Overclocking on AMD platforms. It provides automated smart frequency and voltage management to achieve the best performance boost for your CPU, based on CPU workload and various power/thermal sensors in the processor.
OMEN Gaming Hub uses the configuration options provided by AMD RyzenMaster SDK to offer a simple interface for you to tune and get the best performance out of you computer.
Performance increase is dependent on your processor and operating environment.
Advanced PBO is turned off by default. When it is turned on, you can change the Max CPU Boost Override and Curve Optimizer settings.
Max CPU Boost Override allows more frequency for the CPU boost and increases the theoretical maximum frequency your CPU can reach. This option is available only on desktop computers. You can select a value between 0 MHz to 200 MHz.
Adjust the Curve Optimizer count value from 0 to 30, depending on the processor. Each count denotes a drop in voltage level, depending on your system. Higher values result in a better performance boost, but might cause system instability. With the Per Core option, you can adjust each CPU core separately for more refined settings.
Because of limitations implemented by AMD SDK to protect computer function, Advanced PBO is turned off by default every time the computer is turned on. When the computer wakes from sleep or hibernation, OMEN Gaming Hub reapplies the PBO settings.
Memory Turbo Mode
HP Certified Extreme Memory Profile (XMP) compatible RAM can be overclocked to run at faster speeds. XMP compatible memory that is not HP certified is not configurable in OMEN Gaming Hub. To overclock XMP memory that is not HP certified, select the XMP memory option in the Advanced tab of the BIOS Setup (f10) menu.

Note:The default clock speed is used unless Turbo Mode is selected.
-
A prompt to restart the PC is displayed when the memory speed is changed. Click Restart now to finish memory tuning.
Undervolting
Change the CPU power consumption to reduce the heat of your notebook computer. The higher the CPU voltage requirement is set, the higher the heating capacity of the CPU is. This feature can reduce the CPU core voltage without reducing the CPU performance.
Changing the CPU voltage might cause system instability, including computer crashes. If your computer encounters problems when turning on, press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to restart the computer.
By default, the undervolting function is turned off.
On the Undervoltage tab, the CPU temperature, frequency, and voltage display in real-time. The Test Results section displays the reference data for system performance after the undervolting feature is enabled. These test results depend on the temperature of the computer and might be different each time you run a benchmark test.
To run a benchmark test, select Run test. The test process might take a few minutes and your computer might display a blue screen several times until the test is complete and the new values have been applied to the computer.
OMEN Desktop Performance Control
Change the performance of your OMEN desktop to the mode that works best for the task you are performing.
OMEN Desktop Performance Control replaces Fan Control. Older desktops might still use Fan Control.
