Issue

The purpose of this document is to share information about the recently updated wireless setup guide for the listed printer models on the HP website.

Root causes

The Laser 100, 150 series and Laser MFP 130, 170 series printer models have a different wireless setup method from other HP printer models.

Perform the following steps to access the updated wireless setup guide on the HP website.

  1. Enter each model landing page on the HP website.

  2. Click Go to Printer Setup.

    Click the "Go to Printer Setup" button

    On the printer model landing page, make sure the Setup your printer menu option is selected. Click the Go to Printer Setup button in the Setup your printer subsection. The button is typically in the middle of the page.

  3. Click HP Laser Printers – Wireless Printer Setup.

    Click the link for the "HP Laser Printers - Wireless Printer Setup" document

    The steps on this page are split into two columns. The right column of step 2 (the full solution software and drivers step) contains a list of videos, and then is followed by a link for the HP Laser Printers - Wireless Printer Setup document under the heading Additional support documents.

  4. Review the information from the support article.

Additional information

You must have the Current SSID and Network Key values for the printer to use a Wi-Fi Direct connection to the printer. The wireless setup guide includes step-by-step instructions to connect to a printer using Wi-Fi Direct.
