WorkTools Input enables a virtual keyboard with palm rejection on the touch mat. This means that when the virtual keyboard is active, everything else on the touchmat is deactivated and a palm rest will not inadvertently activate an action from the touchmat.
To open the virtual keyboard, tap the keyboard button on the Sprout Connector.

There are many things you can do in Stage.
  • Drag and drop images from the desktop onto Stage, and from Stage to the desktop and other apps such as MS Office apps or email.
  • Open multiple stages.
  • Open or close navigation bars on the left and right for easy access to commands.
  • Mark or draw on an image with the Ink tool with a finger, stylus, or the HP Active Pen.
  • Group and layer images with the tools.
  • Remove background, autofix, crop, rotate, adjust, and filter with the editing tools.
  • Save and export formats including .STAGE (default), .PNG, .BMP, and .JPG.

Capture
You can scan objects and documents in 2D using Sprout’s built-in high resolution (14.6 MP) camera and webcam in WorkTools Camera. You can edit your captures and export them to WorkTools Stage or save them in one of several formats.
Editing tools include remove background, crop, rotate, adjust, and filter.
You can save or export your images as .JPG, .PDF, or the default, .PNG.

Camera 3D
WorkTools Camera 3D is intended for quick real-time 3D scanning projects. You can scan your physical objects in a matter of seconds by holding and rotating the object under the Illuminator to create high-quality 3D models.
The process includes several steps:
  1. Select an object to scan.
  2. Scan the object by rotating it with your hand and moving your fingers as you move it.
  3. Take a Color Capture/Color Refinement of the object to cover the scan for a high-resolution surface.
  4. Finish.
  5. Save as .OBJ (package of .OBJ, .MTL, .JPG) or .3MF (3D Builder) file formats, and use for fun and share with others, or in third-party 3D editing apps.
Successful scanning takes practice. The size of the objects should be between three and eight inches. Smaller or larger objects do not scan well. It is best to keep the object moving steadily as you scan, and if the camera loses track, place the object back down on the touch mat and wait for the camera to be ready to continue.
