HP LaserJet Enterprise - Perform additional print-quality troubleshooting

HP Color LaserJet Enterprise printers have internal print-quality (PQ) pages to help diagnose print-quality problems that are specific to color printing. Use the following procedures to print and interpret these internal pages.

Step one: Print the PQ troubleshooting pages

FutureSmart 3

From the Home screen on the printer control panel, scroll to and select the Administration button.
Open the following menus:
- Troubleshooting
- Print Quality Pages
Select PQ Troubleshooting Pages, and then touch the Print button to print a set of six pages.

FutureSmart 4

From the Home screen on the printer control panel, select Support Tools.
Open the following menus:
- Troubleshooting
- Print Quality Pages
Select PQ Troubleshooting Pages, and then select Print to print the pages.

Step two: Interpret the PQ troubleshooting pages

The first PQ troubleshooting page includes instructions for checking supplies status and for calibrating the printer. It also includes instructions for using the remaining PQ troubleshooting pages to determine if a particular toner cartridge is causing the print-quality problems.

Look for spots or streaks on these pages. The color of the spot or streak indicates the color of cartridge that could be defective. For example, a cyan spot or streak on one or more pages indicates the cyan cartridge might be defective.
