HP OfficeJet Pro X series - HP Embedded Web Server (EWS) firmware differences

Introduction
Depending on which firmware version your HP OfficeJet Pro X series printer is running, there are two different HP Embedded Web Server (EWS) user interfaces:
  • Old interface: Printers using firmware 1409BR or older use the old EWS interface and do not have access to the new printer features that are included in firmware versions 1432DR or newer.
  • New interface: Printers using firmware 1432DR or newer use the new EWS interface, and the following are new printer features:
    • Inactivity Timer Setting
    • Access Control
    • Protect Stored Data
    • Restrict Color
This document explains the differences between the 1409BR and older firmware with the 1432DR and newer firmware for the EWS.
Home tab
The Home tab allows you to customize the page to display specific printer features. The following table shows a side-by-side comparison between the two EWS firmware version Home tab.
