SCOPE
Information in this document applies to the following:

  • HP RP7 Retail System Model 7800
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, perform the following steps:
  1. Press the ESC key at the HP logo screen.
  2. In the Startup Menu screen, Press F10 to enter Computer Setup.
    Figure 2.

  3. Select Security, then select SETUP Password and press Enter.
  4. A menu will pop up with "Enter new setup password".
  5. Enter "hp" as password and press Enter.
  6. Enter "hp" in the "Enter New password again", press Enter, press F10, then save and exit.
NOTE: If a Setup password is not desired, repeat steps 2-6 again leaving the "Enter new setup password" and "Enter new setup password again" fields blank.
