It is very important to have the Skype account active but with diconnected session, for the update.

  1. If the Skype account is running, then continue point 2, if no then perfomrm the following:
    • Sign out from the computer as Administrator.
    • Sign in back as a Skype user.
  2. Connect a Keyboard to the computer.
  3. Click 5 times on the keyboard Windows button.
    • The sign in page will pop up.
  4. Select Administrator.
    Note: An Admin password is required to access as Administrator.
  5. Open Command Prompts as Administrator.
  6. Past the following code:
    //Run the following command where <path to script> includes the full path to the script and the name of the script file//
    PowerShell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted "<path to script>"
    // For Example:
    //PowerShell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted "C:\Users\Admin\Downloads\MTR-Update-4.5.6.7.ps1"//
  7. Allow the script to run, it may takes up to 4 min.
    • Check the output from the script - it will indicate if the script did or did not complete successfully.
    • If the script completes successfully, the Teams Rooms device will run the updated version of the Teams Rooms app on next reboot.
    • If the script encounters a problem, it will indicate what the problem is on the command line and record its output to a file. Follow any instructions that the script provides. If you need to contact Microsoft Support, make sure to include the log file along with the support request.
      • The log file can be found in C:\Users\Skype\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.SkypeRoomSystem_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\Tracing\MTR-Update.
