HP ZBook Fury G7, G9 Mobile Workstations - Bluetooth headset microphone fails after Sleep mode

DESCRIPTION
The microphone of the Bluetooth headset connected to ZBook Fury G7 or G9 Mobile Workstations might not work after the computer resumes from Sleep mode. The Bluetooth headset speakers might also stop working after the computer resumes from Sleep mode. The sound settings and Bluetooth devices might show that the Bluetooth headset is disconnected.

RESOLUTION
Chipsets used in the systems listed in Scope Bluetooth Hands Free Protocol (HFP) are not capable of reconnecting the Bluetooth headset microphone after Standby.
To recover from this issue:
  • Restart the computer to restore the Bluetooth headset speakers and microphone connection.
  • Try to reconnect and sync the Bluetooth headset to the computer.
To work around the issue:
Use a USB 3.0 Bluetooth 5.0 dongle. HP does not produce USB Bluetooth dongles. When using a USB Bluetooth dongle, the system Bluetooth should be disabled.
To disable the system Bluetooth, go to the BIOS F10 settings > Advance > Built-in Device, and then unselect Bluetooth.
