HP RP9 G1 Retail System - Enabling RAID

HP now supports RAID for HP RP9 Retail Systems but the systems must be properly configured before RAID can be enabled.
The following are the minimum requirements and limitations for enabling RAID:
  • HP RP9 only supports RAID 1 and RAID 0.
  • RAID can only support the 2.5" SATA HDD or Solid State Drives (SSD) with the M.2 (Non-NVMe drive).
  • The NVMe protocol is not supported for RAID.
  • Recommended using similar configurations of the Solid State Drives (SSD) for RAID.
    • In RAID 0, the setup can be created with disks of differing sizes; however, the storage space added to the array for each disk will be limited to the size of the smallest disk.
    • In RAID 1, the setup of the drives have to be the same size.
note:
HP highly recommends using SSD drives that are the same model and vendor.
  • RP9 does not support RAID in Legacy Boot mode.

HP strongly recommends updating the system BIOS to version 02.36 or higher.

Refer to the following document for instructions on configuring RAID: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c05914431#AbT2
