HP Color Laser 150 Printers - Replacing an Imaging Drum

This document is for HP Color Laser MFP 150a and 150nw printers.

The imaging drum helps finalize the printing process by transferring the image or text to the paper. When a solid Attention light

displays or a Prepare new Imaging unit or Replace with new imaging unit message displays on the computer, replace the imaging drum.

Replace an imaging drum

Replace the imaging drum.

Open the toner cartridge access door.
Grasp each side of the toner cartridge, and then pull out the toner cartridge to remove it. Repeat this step to remove all the toner cartridges.
Remove the toner collection unit. Carefully set the unit aside on a flat, solid surface to avoid spilling the waste toner.
Remove the imaging drum.
Remove the new imaging drum from its package, align the new imaging drum with the tracks inside the printer, and then push in the imaging drum until it snaps into place. Recycle the packing materials.
Reinsert the toner collection unit. Avoid tilting or turning the unit to prevent spilling the waste toner.
Reinstall the toner cartridges.
Close the toner cartridge access door.
