HP DesignJet T730 Printer, T830 MFP Series - Tips and tricks - How to print complex files

Tips and tricks - How to print complex files
Large quantities of data may be necessary to print large-format print jobs, and in some specific workflows, especially when using the HP-GL/2 driver with complex print jobs, there may be issues that can lead to some objects missing from the printed image. Here are some suggestions to help you to avoid this problem.
Issue
Some objects are missing from the printed image.
  note:
Print jobs which might be affected are files containing complex objects such as objects with multiple layers, objects with gradients or/and when the file size is relatively big. Usually, this kind of complex job is made by CAD applications (for example, AutoCAD).
Solution
  1. Use the latest PCL3 driver with the latest printer firmware.
This is the most recommendable option. By using the PCL3 driver, the customer’s computer takes the rasterization process instead of the printer. Comparing to the printer, modern computers have better performance to manage complex jobs due to more available resources.
TIP: Using the PCL3 driver is recommended in the HP DesignJet T730 Printer and T830 MFP Series.
  2. Enable the Send job as bitmap option.
This option is available only for the HP-GL/2 driver.
  3. Select a smaller page size and enlarge to the desired final page size in the driver or in the front panel.
  4. Select the options Max. Application resolution: 300 and Resolution managed by application: Off.
  5. Save the file in another format, such as TIFF or PDF, and print it from another application.
  6. Use a RIP to print the file.
  7. Reduce the resolution of bitmap images in your application software.
  8. Select a lower print quality in order to reduce the resolution of the printed image.
      note:
If you are working under Mac OS, not all of these options are available.
Some options may adversely affect the final output quality or the time necessary to generate the print job. Therefore, they should be cancelled if they do not help to solve the problem.
