Install scanning software into an independent PC or laptop. This will install both scanning software and scanner tools utility. Connect scanner directly to PC with a crossover cable and power On.
Now assign IP manually to scanner.
Click on setup button, Network, Network setup (select automatic to Off), IP Address, manual and type IP and subnet. Assign IP in the same range that PC has.
Example: PC IP - 169.254.213.25, Subnet - 255.255.0.0.
Scanner IP - 169.254.213.26, Subnet - 255.255.0.0.
note:

Network setup can not detect scanner if network card is faulty or no connectivity. It will show message as shown and prompt to search again. Try Advance search option.
