Inserting and Removing the Battery Pack
Inserting the Battery Pack
To insert the main internal battery into the battery compartment, follow these steps:
  1. Turn the notebook bottom side up.
  2. Position the battery so that the battery label faces upward. (verify label direction)
  3. Slide the battery into the battery compartment until it snaps into place.

Removing the Battery Pack
IMPORTANT: To prevent loss of information when removing a battery pack
that is the only power source available to the system, initiate Hibernation or turn off the computer before removing the internal battery pack.
  1. Turn the notebook bottom side up.
  2. Slide the battery release latch toward the rear of the notebook.
  3. Slide the battery out of the battery compartment and release the battery latch.

Installing the RTC Battery
  1. Prepare the computer for disassembly and remove the following components:
    1. LED cover
    2. Keyboard and shield
    3. Display
    4. Top cover
  2. Use a flat-bladed tool to release the RTC battery from its socket [1 ] .
  3. Remove the RTC battery [2 ] .

 
NOTE:
When replacing an RTC battery, insert the battery with the “+” sign facing up.
