HP Designjet Printers - Unable to Locate or Select the System Printer Driver in AutoCAD 2002 and 2004

When working in AutoCAD 2002 or 2004, the Windows-based HP Designjet system printer driver(s) may not be an option as it was in previous versions of AutoCAD (2000). AutoCAD 2002 or 2004 may also generate the following error message: The final page size to be printed is invalid given the selected configuration for this printer. If this situation is occurring, you will most likely see several PC3 drivers, but none that are worded EXACTLY THE SAME as the driver that appears in the Windows printers folder. This issue will occur if the option to hide all of the system print drivers is selected in AutoCAD 2002 or 2004.

Enable AutoCAD 2002 or 2004 to show system printer drivers as follows:

1. Open AutoCAD (2002 or 2004) (and the file being worked on).
2. Click File, then select Page Setup.
3. Select the Plot Device tab.
4. Select Options, then Plotting.
5. Remove the checkmark from the Hide system printers option.
6. After removing the checkmark, click Apply and Close.
   After making the change described above, you will be able to select any Windows system print drivers directly from within AutoCAD 2002 or 2004.
