Some applications do not embed a page size into their PostScript output. Without an embedded page size in a PostScript file, PostScript-capable HP DesignJet printers default to a paper size that is the width of the roll multiplied by 1.5. For example, if the printer had a 36-inch roll, the printer would feed and cut the paper at 54 inches (36 x 1.5), regardless of the size of the image on the paper
There are two possible solutions.
Set the HP DesignJet printer’s front panel menu under Page Format / Size to the specific size desired. See the User’s Guide for assistance in configuring the front panel menu. For example: Set Size = Ansi A for 8.5 inches x 11 inches.NOTE:The following front panel sizes are NOT supported with PostScript: Inked Area, Best ANSI, Best ARCH, Best JIS, Best ISO.Paper size standards are listed in table format at the end of this document.
Edit the PostScript file to add the PageSize command. For 8.5 inch x 11 inch paper, add the following line to the file:<</PageSize [612 792]>>setpagedeviceNOTE:Contact software vendor to determine if the software can be set up to automatically embed the necessary PageSize command.
