To do so, follow the steps below: 1. Keep the Install Wizard window open with the 'Unable to Find Printer' error message. 2. If you have already closed the installation window, perform one of the following methods below: * Reinsert the software CD: To install the software with the product CD, follow the steps below: a. Remove the software CD from the CD drive, and then close the CD drive. b. Open the CD drive, insert the software CD, and then close the CD drive. The software installer starts automatically. c. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the software. When the 'Unable to Find Printer' error message displays, leave the installation screen open. * Reopen the downloaded software file: To reopen the downloaded software file, follow the steps below: a. If you get a firewall security alert, click Unblock, Accept, Continue, Yes, Allow, or Permit. d. When the Welcome window displays, click Show Advanced Tools, and then click Retrieve WPA/WEP Key. A window opens that displays SSID, encryption, and wireless password information for your network. e. Click the Show Wireless Password button to display the actual network password. On the list of available networks, touch the network name (SSID) corresponding to your network. If the network name does not appear in the list, follow these steps: a. Touch Enter New Network Name. The on-screen keyboard displays on the control panel. b. Enter the network name (SSID) using the on-screen keyboard, and then touch Done. NOTE: Make sure that you enter the uppercase (capital) and lowercase (small) letters exactly. Otherwise, the wireless connection fails. c. When prompted, touch Infrastructure for the wireless mode. d. Touch Yes, my network uses WEP encryption or Yes, my network uses WPA encryption based on your network setup. NOTE: If you are not using encryption, touch No, my network does not use encryption. 3. If prompted, enter the WEP or WPA key using the on-screen keyboard, and then touch Done. NOTE: Make sure that you enter the uppercase (capital) and lowercase (small) letters exactly. Otherwise, the wireless connection fails. 4. Make sure that the product successfully connects to the network before continuing to the next step. The product prints a network configuration page to confirm a successful connection. NOTE: If a connection error message displays, make sure that the network name and security key are correct, and then follow the prompts to enter the information again. Let me know once you are done with the steps. Now, search for the All-in-One with the product IP address by following the steps below: 1. In the Install Wizard window, select I can see an IP address (a sequence of numbers separated by dots in four sections, for example: 192.168.0.3). 2. Type the product IP address, and then click Next. Let me know if the computer finds the product. Since the computer does not find the product, disable the startup programs and services by following the steps below: 1. Open the Run or Start Search dialog box. * Windows XP: Click Start, and then click Run. * Windows Vista and Windows 7: On the Windows taskbar, click the Windows icon. 2. In the Run, Start Search, or Search programs and files dialog box, type msconfig, and then press Enter. If the User Account Control window opens with the message 'Windows needs your permission to continue,' click Continue to close the window. 3. In the System Configuration window, click the Startup tab, and then click Disable All. 4. Click the Services tab, click the Hide all Microsoft services checkbox, and then click Disable All. 5. Right-click the icon for the third-party software, and then click Disable. NOTE: The option to turn off the software might not be 'Disable '. Look for a similar menu option, such as Stop or Turn off. Next, uninstall any HP All-in-One software by following the steps below: 1. Open the Programs folder: * Windows XP: Click Start, and then click All Programs. * Windows Vista and Windows 7: On the Windows taskbar, click the Windows icon, and then click Programs or All Programs. 2. Click HP, click your product name, and then click Uninstall. 3. Follow the on-screen instructions to remove the software. Then, re-install the HP Software by one of the two following methods: 1. If the software CD is available: a. Load the CD into the CD drive, and the close the drive. If the CD is already in the CD drive, open, and then close the CD drive. The software installer starts automatically. If the Install Wizard does not open automatically, follow these steps to open it: * Windows XP: Click Start, click My Computer, and then double-click the CD drive. * Windows Vista and Windows 7: Click the Windows icon, click Computer, and then double-click the CD drive. b. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish installing the software. 2. If you downloaded the software from the HP Web site: a. Double-click the icon for the software file you downloaded. b. When the installation screen opens, click Install, and then follow the on-screen instructions to finish installing the software. Once the Installation is done successfully, re-enable startup programs and services by following the steps below: 1. Open the Run, Start Search, or Search programs and files dialog box. * Windows XP: Click Start, and then click Run. * Windows Vista and Windows 7: On the Windows taskbar, click the Windows icon. 2. In the Run, Start Search, or Search programs and files dialog box, type msconfig, and then press Enter. If the User Account Control window opens with the message 'Windows needs your permission to continue,' click Continue to close the window. 3. In the System Configuration window, click the Startup tab, and then select the check box next to each program that should run when you turn on the computer. If a program should not run when the computer is turned on, leave the check box clear. CAUTION: Do not disable any Microsoft services. 4. If no changes should be made to startup programs or services, click the General tab, and then select the Normal Startup checkbox. 5. Click Apply, and then click OK. 6. When prompted to restart the computer, click Restart.
