如何手工取出 ultrium 驱动器中的磁带


Introduction

Ensure that the power is turned off. If the drive is mounted internally to your system, remove it, and then follow the steps under Tape Removal Procedure. If it is an external drive, remove the drive from the enclosure first by following the steps under Removing External Drive from Enclosure.
NOTE:
Prior to manually removing a tape it is important to first follow the steps in document lpg30332 – “HP STORAGEWORKS - LTO Troubleshooting Trees For Stuck/Snapped Tapes And Hung Drives” Click here to view lpg30332
This content does not apply to the Ultrium 215 as that procedure is quite different.

Removing external drive from enclosure

NOTE:
You will need a t-10 long shaft Torx driver.
  1. Release thumb latches by sliding them towards the outside of the case.

  2. Remove enclosure cover by lifting it back and up.

  3. Locate and disconnect data cable, power connector, and SCSI ID autoselect connector.

  4. Loosen but do not remove 2 #10 Torx screws.

  5. Remove snap on faceplate.

  6. Remove 2 #10 Torx Screws.

  7. Slide drive out the front of the case.

Tape removal procedure

NOTE:
You will need a t-10 long shaft Torx driver.
  1. Locate recessed thumbwheel. Carefully place the drive so that it is oriented on its side with the RD thumbwheel uppermost.

  2. Turn the RD Thumbwheel (on the side of the drive) by hand towards the back of the drive as far as possible (there is no hard stop, but the wheel will begin to spring back). This positions the grabber into the parking position. Note that the grabber may already be positioned in the parked position, so the RD Thumbwheel may not rewind.

  3. Using a T-10 Torx Driver, rotate the front reel motor clockwise until you hear a click, and there is resistance to further motion. This unthreads the tape. The front reel motor will stop rotating clockwise when the tape is completely unthreaded and the tape leader is successfully parked. If a significant length of tape is threaded, this step could take a long time.

  4. Turn the RD Thumbwheel by hand towards the front of the drive until the cartridge is fully ejected. There will be some resistance as the cartridge comes free of the magnet. This will need to be overcome to get the cartridge in the fully ejected position. Remove the cartridge by hand.
