This document explains how to set up the physical parts of the product. Complete these steps before you install the product software on your computer.

Introduction
This document includes the following steps to set up the product:

Check the contents of the box

Unpack the product

Align the product
Setting up the All-in-One
Follow these steps in the order presented to set up the printer hardware.
atención:Do NOT connect the USB cable now. If you need a USB cable to connect the product to the computer, you will be prompted to connect it at the correct time during software installation.
Step one: Check the contents of the box
The contents might vary by country/region. See the packaging for a list of items shipped in the box.
Step two: Unpack the All-in-One

Remove all of the tape from the front and back of the product.Figura : Remove the packing tape

Open the access door, and then remove all of the packaging materials from inside the product.Figura : Remove the packing tape from inside the product
Step three: Connect the power cord

Connect the power cord to the back of the product, and then connect the other end of the cord to the electrical outlet.Figura : Connect the power cord
Step four: Turn on the power
Press the Power button (
) to turn on the product.

Step five: Follow the control panel instructions

Follow the on-screen prompts to finish setting up the product.Figura : Product control panel
Step six: Load plain paper
Follow these steps to load paper in the product.

Grasp the lip on the front of the paper tray, and then pull the tray towards you to open it.Figura : Grasp the lip on the paper tray and pull the tray out

Slide the paper width guides outward.

Insert the stack of paper into the input tray with the short edge forward and the print side down.

Push the stack of paper all the way forward, and then slide the paper width guides in to rest against the edge of the paper.Figura : Push the paper forward in the input tray

Push the tray forward into the product until it clicks into place.
Step seven: Insert the cartridges
Follow these steps to insert the cartridges.

Press the Power button (
) to turn on the product, if it is not already turned on.

Open the access door. The carriage moves to the center of the product. Wait until the carriage is idle and silent before proceeding.Figura : Open the access door

Lift the lid on the carriage slot.Figura : Lift the lid on the carriage slot

On the new cartridge, pull the pink pull-tab straight back to remove the plastic tape.Figura : Remove the pink tape from the new cartridge

Hold the cartridge at a slight upward angle with the cartridge contacts facing the rear of the product, and then slide the cartridge into the empty slot.Make sure that the color of the cartridge matches the color on the cartridge lid.

The tri-color cartridge goes in the slot on the left.

The black cartridge goes in the slot on the right.

Close the lid on the carriage slot to secure the cartridge.Figura : Close the lid

Repeat these steps to insert the other cartridge.

Close the access door. The carriage returns to the right side of the product.Figura : Close the access door
Step eight: Align the All-in-One
If the product does not automatically begin the alignment process after inserting the new cartridges, follow these steps to align the product.

After loading plain white paper, touch Setup (
) on the product control panel.

Touch Tools, and then touch Align Printer. The alignment process starts, and the alignment page prints.
