Loading Paper, Photo Paper, and Envelopes for HP Deskjet 1510, 2540, Deskjet Ink Advantage 1510, and 2540 All-in-One Printer Series

This document is for the following printers: HP Deskjet 1510, 1511, 1512, 1513, 1514, 2540, 2541, 2542, 2543, 2544, 2546, 2547, 2548, and 2549; and Deskjet Ink Advantage 1515, 1516, 1518, 2545, 2546, and 2548.

This document provides instructions for loading plain paper, photo paper, and envelopes into the printer.

Loading plain paper

Use the following steps to load paper in the printer.

Raise the input tray.

Lower the output tray.

Pull out the tray extender.

Load plain white paper into the input tray with the short edge forward and the print side up.

Slide the paper width guide inward until it rests against the edge of the paper.

Loading photo paper

Use the following steps to load photo paper in the printer.

Raise the input tray.

Lower the output tray.

Pull out the tray extender.

Load a stack of photo paper into the input tray with the short edge down and print side up. Slide the stack of paper in until it stops.

Remarque :
If the photo paper you use has perforated tabs, load the paper so that the tabs are on top.
Slide the paper width guide inward until it rests against the edge of the paper.

Remarque :
Do not leave any photo paper in the input tray after you finish printing, as the quality of the paper might deteriorate. Store photo paper in a sealed bag in a cool, dark place.

Loading envelopes

Use the following steps to load envelopes in the printer.

Remarque :
You can load one or more envelopes in the tray, but do not load more than five envelopes at a time. Do not use shiny or embossed envelopes or envelopes that have clasps or windows.

Raise the input tray.

Lower the output tray.

Pull out the tray extender.

Load one or more envelopes into the far-right side of the input tray. Make sure the side to be printed on faces up, and the side with the flap is on the left, facing down.
Slide the paper width guide inward until it rests against the edge of the paper.
