HP PCs - Cannot Change the Power Settings in Windows Computers

IPM+ is a pre-installed application to manage power setting in some HP Commercial desktop and notebook computers. If IPM+ is not installed on your computer and you wish to install it, click here to download IPM+ (SP70081) from the HP Website.

1. Open the IPM+ Console
   • Windows 8
     From the Windows Home screen, type IPM, and then select IPMPlusConsoleSE from the list of results.

   • Windows 7
     Click Start , and then click All programs.
2. Under Productivity and Tools, click IPM+, and then click IPMPlusConsoleSE.
   The IPM+ console opens.

3. Select Settings, and then click Power scheme.

4. From the Select power scheme drop-down menu, select Power saving off, and then click Apply.

5. To change the power saving options, select other options from power scheme down menu.

1. Open the Uninstall or change a program.
   • Windows 8
     From the Windows Home screen, type Uninstall, and then select Uninstall a program from the list of results.

   • Windows 7
     1. Click Start , and then click Control panel.

     2. Click Programs and Features.

2. Click IPM+, and then click Uninstall from the listed option.

3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete uninstallation.
