HP DeskJet, ENVY 5640, 5660 Printers - Printing Self-Test Pages

Print a Printer Status Report to make sure that the hardware functions correctly.

1. Make sure that there is U.S. letter or A4 size, unused, plain paper in the input tray.
2. On the printer control panel, swipe the display, and then touch the Setup icon ().
   The Setup menu displays.
3. Swipe the display, and then touch Reports.
4. Touch Printer Status Report.
   The printer prints the report.

Print a Network Configuration Page to make sure that the printer is on the same network as the computer.

1. Make sure that there is U.S. Letter or A4 size, unused, plain paper in the input tray.
2. On the printer control panel, swipe the display to the left, and then touch Setup ().
   The Setup menu displays.
3. Touch Reports, and then touch Network Configuration Report.
   A Network Configuration Page prints.
   The printer prints two pages of information.

If you are experiencing any print quality issues, print a Print Quality Diagnostic Report to help identify the source of the issue.

1. Make sure that there is U.S. Letter or A4 size, unused, plain paper in the input tray.
2. On the printer control panel, swipe the display to the left, and then touch Setup ().
   The Setup menu displays.
3. Touch Reports, and then touch Print Quality Report.
   A Print Quality Diagnostic report prints.

Print the Wireless Test Report for information about the printer's wireless connection. The Wireless Test Report provides information about the printer status, hardware (MAC) address, and the IP address. If the printer is connected to a network, the test report displays details about the network settings.

1. Make sure that there is U.S. Letter or A4 size, unused, plain paper in the input tray.
2. On the printer control panel, touch the Wireless icon (), and then touch the Settings icon ().
3. Touch Print Reports, and then touch Wireless Test Report.
   A Wireless Test Report prints.

Printing an Extended Self Test Report displays advanced image quality troubleshooting issues and prints out the following data: vertical/horizontal cartridge alignment settings, printhead nozzle issues, color and black cartridge test patterns, and error messages.

1. Make sure that there is U.S. Letter or A4 size, unused, plain paper in the input tray.
2. On the control panel, touch the display in the following order: top left corner, bottom left corner, top left corner, and then the top left corner again (TL, BL, TL, TL).
