HP iPAQ 100 Classic Handheld Series - Setting Up a Wireless Access Point (WAP) Gateway
Issue:
The document provides information on how to set up a Wireless Access Point (WAP) gateway.
Solution
To access the WAP sites using Internet Explorer, configure your device to use a WAP gateway.
To set up the WAP gateway, follow these steps:
-
Tap Start > Settings > Connections.
-
On the Connections screen, tap Advanced > Select Networks > Edit. If a proxy server has not been set up, tap New.
-
On the Proxy Settings tab, select the This network connects to the Internet and This network uses a proxy server to connect to the Internet check boxes.
-
In the Proxy server box, enter the proxy server name, if necessary.
-
Tap Advanced > WAP.
-
In the Server box, enter the WAP gateway server name. Under Port, enter the port number. The most common WAP port number is 9201.
-
Enter any logon credentials like the ISP server phone number, user name, and password information required by the WAP gateway server.
note:
Contact your Internet service provider (ISP) or your network administrator to help provide this information if needed.
