HP Designjet Printers - Inked Area Feature Does not Work Correctly in AutoCAD 2000 or Newer
Issue:
When plotting from AutoCAD 2000 or newer, the Inked Area feature does not appear to work correctly.
Solution
Turn off all the PLOT STAMP options in AutoCAD:
-
Access the AutoCAD command prompt.
-
Type PLOTSTAMP in the prompt and press Enter.
-
Turn off all of the PLOT STAMP options.
-
Reprint the file.
Cause
This issue mainly occurs when catch-all custom page sizes are used (for instance, 36 x 120) in conjunction with the Inked Area feature. This combination, with PLOT STAMP options turned on can generate a large amount of wasted paper.
Summary
If Plot Stamp features have been enabled in AutoCAD, it appears that AutoCAD places the plot stamp information at the bottom of the page size selected in the print driver, which causes incorrect cropping of the printed file.
