Samsung CLX-8380 Color Laser MFP - Replacing the Waste Toner Container

This document explains how to replace the waste toner container.
The life of the waste toner container unit is approximately 48,000 printed images. When the life span of the waste toner container has expired, Waste tank is full. Replace it appears on the control panel display screen, indicating the waste toner container needs to be replaced. Otherwise the printer stops printing.

Replacing the waste toner container

Use these steps to replace the waste toner container.
  1. Turn your printer off, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer, and then wait a few minutes for the printer to cool.
  2. Open the side cover.

  3. Open the front cover.

  4. Push the lock lever up (1) and pull the waste toner container out (2).

    note:
    When you pull out the waste toner container out of the printer, move the container carefully so as not to drop it.
    Make sure you lay the waste toner container on a flat surface so the toner does not spill.
  5. Remove the cap from the container as shown, and use it to close the waste toner container openings.

      caution:
    Do not tilt or turn over the container.
  6. Unpackage the new waste toner container.
  7. Insert the new container into position, then push it to make sure it is firmly seated.
  8. Close the front cover, then close the side cover.
  9. Securely latch the cover, then turn on the printer.
      caution:
    If the cover is not completely closed, the printer will not operate.
