HP ENVY 17-K100 Notebook PC - Fingerprint Reader Function is Lost After System Reset or Refresh

The Fingerprint reader function is lost after using the Windows 10 System Reset or Refresh utility.

To resolve this issue, delete all the .dat files in the WinBioDatabase folder and restart the computer.

Open Windows Explorer from the task Bar.
Select C: drive.
Open the Windows folder.
Open the System32 folder.
Open the WinBioDatabase folder.
Delete all .dat files in the WinBioDatabase folder.
Restart the computer.
The Fingerprint reader function is restored.

note:
Fingerprints must be re-enrolled after deleting the .dat files in the WinBioDatabase folder.
