The quality of Sprout 3D scanning depends on the proper alignment of the HP Touch Mat and the projected screen on the touch mat. This alignment is calibrated during initial opening or HP Snapshot and can also be recalibrated any time you choose. When you first open 3D Snapshot you are prompted to do a 3D calibration. During calibration, Sprout detects the alignment of the touch mat and adjusts the projector and the cameras to create the best 3D captures. After the initial calibration, you can recalibrate any time you choose.

Sprout by HP - Calibrating for 3D Scanning on Sprout by HP
Calibrating from 3D Snapshot
Use the following instructions to calibrate for the 3D scan from the 3D capture screen.

On Sprout Home screen, tap 3D Snapshot.Figure : 3D Shapshot on the Sprout Home ScreenThe fist time 3D Snapshot is opened, you will be prompted to perform the calibration. Follow the instructions to complete the 3D calibration. Then continue with the 3D capture.After the initial calibration, you can calibrate for 3D scanning using the following instructions.

On the 3D capture screen, in the lower right corner, tap Redo 3D Calibration.Figure : Redo 3D calibration

As instructed on the bottom of the calibration screen, make sure the touch mat is clear of any objects or obstructions before continuing with the calibration.Figure : Touch mat ready to calibrate

If the 3D calibration fails, read the following suggestions, make any corrections, and then retry.

Ensure that Sprout is on a flat surface, including making sure that nothing is stuck underneath the vertical column.

Ensure that no objects are on the touch mat.

Ensure that the touch mat is not illuminated by direct light and that no shadows are on the touch mat. You can try turning lights in the room down or off, or closing the curtains.
