To resolve this issue, manually adjust recording level to increase the recording level to 100 percent.
- From the Windows Start screen, select the Search Bar.
- Enter
Sound in the Search Bar.
Note: If you use a touch screen, simply bring up the on-screen keyboard first.
- Select
Sound from the search results.

- Tap or click the recording device that you want to use as your recording device.

- Choose the desired microphone and tap or click Properties.
- In the
Properties window, make sure that the
Use this device (enable) option is selected in the
Device usage drop-down list.

- Select the Levels tab.
- Make sure that the Microphone sensitivity is set to the maximum level (100%)
- Be sure the microphone is not muted. Also, check that the
Microphone Boost is set to minimum, then tap or click
Apply, then
OK.

From the Windows Start screen, select the Search Bar and enter Sound Recorder.

Select Sound Recorder from the search results.

Tap or click Start Recording and speak into the microphone. Try recording your voice, then play it back.
