HP Notebook PCs - HP Mobile Hotspot Feature in HP Connection Manager Is Incompatible With Intel WiDi

DESCRIPTION
The HP Mobile Hotspot feature in HP Connection Manager (version 4.2.50.x) stops responding when Intel WiDi (version 3.0.13.0) is connected. It does not display an error when this happens. Additionally, HP Connection Manager indicates a status of "stopped." Clicking the Start button to activate the hotspot again has no effect and the button returns to the "Start" state.

SCOPE
All 2011 and 2012 platforms with Intel WiDi software.
RESOLUTION
This is a known issue with the Intel WiDi program leaving the wireless network connection open at all times. To resolve this issue, use an HDMI cable to connect the notebook to a display panel and projector when using other WiFi devices and services.
