HP iPAQ rw6800 Multimedia Messenger - Dual Tone Multi-Frequency (DTMF) Tones May Not Be Recognized

When dialing a helpline number, such as the Hotlink number of a Maxis SIM Card, the HP iPAQ dials the number (122) and gives the IVR options. However, it does not register any of the other selections.
Details
The Dual Tone Multi-Frequency (DTMF) tones are generated on every key press. These are the tones that are identified while making an IVR selection. The tones are generated based on the following chart:

In some situations, the DTMF tone may not be recognized and the IVR options may not get selected properly, even when the correct key on the phone keypad is pressed.
The issue is observed on HP iPAQ rw6800 Multimedia Messenger with a Maxis PrePaid SIM Card.
Complete the following troubleshooting steps:
  1. Click Start --> Phone --> Menu --> Options --> KeyPad Tones. Change the KeyPad Tones options from Long Tones to Short Tones, and try again, or vice versa.
  2. Try the latest ROM (version 1.01.03).
  3. Try SIM cards from other service providers.
  4. Try PostPaid SIM cards of the same service provider, as well as from different ones.
If the issue does not get resolved/identified with the previous steps, contact the HP Customer Support Center.
