Evo Notebook N610c - Installing the System Board

Installing the System Board
Overview
  1. Prepare the notebook for disassembly and remove the following components:
    • RTC battery
    • Keyboard
    • Memory expansion compartment cover
    • TouchPad
    • Switch cover
    • Display
    • Top cover
  2. Position the notebook so the rear panel faces you.
  3. Remove the two screws (1) that secure the system board to the base enclosure through the rear panel.
  4. Remove the three screws (2) that secure the top cover to the base enclosure.
  5. When removing the system board, DO NOT REMOVE the following screws:
    • Four screws (1) that secure the processor bracket to the system board
    • Two screws (2) that secure the heat sink to the system board
    • Two screws (3) that secure the hard drive connector the system board
    • Four screws (4) that secure the PC Card assembly to the system board
  6. Use the Media Bay connector (1) to lift the right side of the system board (2) until it rests at a 45-degree angle.
  7. Slide the system board out of the base enclosure at a 45-degree angle (3).
  8. When handling the system board, be careful not to put stress on the I/O interface board (1). The narrow profile of this board makes it susceptible to being damaged when mishandled. The I/O board should only be removed and handled using the Media Bay connector 2 .
  9. Reverse the preceding procedure to replace the system board.
