HP Printers - Select the paper size (Windows)

Learn how to select a paper size (or create a custom paper size) for print jobs when printing from Windows.

Select the paper size

Follow these steps to select the paper size for your print job from the Office application or app in Windows.

  1. From the Office app, select the Print option.

  2. In the Print dialog box, select the printer, and then click Printer Properties or Properties.

  3. In the software dialog, click the Document tab.

  4. In the Paper Size drop-down list, select the paper size for the print job, and then click OK.

  5. In the Print dialog box, click Print or OK to print the job.

Create a custom paper size

Follow these steps to create a custom paper size for your print job from the Office application or app in Windows.

  1. From the Office app, select the Print option.

  2. In the Print dialog box, select the printer, and then click Printer Properties or Properties.

  3. In the software dialog, click the Document tab.

  4. In the Paper Size drop-down list, scroll to and click + Custom.

    The Custom Paper Size dialog box opens.

  5. In the Paper Size Name text field, type a name for the custom paper size.

  6. Next to Width and Length, click the and + buttons to set the desired size, and then click Save to save the custom size.

  7. In the software dialog, click OK to return to the Print dialog box.

  8. In the Print dialog box, click Print or OK to print the job.
