Replacement ink and toner is available from HP and local retailers.

  1. Go to the HP Store.

  2. Select your country/region and language.

  3. Click Ink & toner at the top of the page.

  4. Follow the instructions to find and order the cartridges for your printer.

Install replacement ink cartridges

Install a new cartridge in an HP DeskJet 2700, 4100, 4800 printer.

  1. Make sure paper is loaded in the main tray, and then turn on the printer.

  2. Open the ink cartridge access door.

  3. Wait until the carriage is idle and silent.

  4. Press down on the ink cartridge you want to replace to release it, and then remove it from its slot.

  5. Set the old cartridge aside, and then remove the new cartridge from the package.

  6. Holding the cartridge by its sides, remove the plastic tape using the pull tab.

    CAUTION:

    Do not touch the copper-colored contacts or the ink nozzles, or reapply the protective tape. Touching these areas can result in an ink system failure.

  7. Slide the cartridge into the slot at a slight upward angle, and then push up on the cartridge until it snaps into place.

  8. Repeat this process for the other cartridge, if necessary.

  9. Close the ink cartridge access door.

  10. If an Alignment Page prints, follow the instructions on the page to align the cartridges and complete the installation.
