Effective June 8, 2021, HP is enhancing the BIOS on the HP 2019 notebook PCs. The new updates are being made available for download from the HP software and drivers page for the product.

HP EliteBook 850, 840, 830 G6, 840 G6 Healthcare Edition Notebook PC and HP Zbook 14u, 15u G6 Mobile Workstation System BIOS has the following enhancements added:

  • Addresses security vulnerabilities CVE-2020-12293, CVE-2020-12294, CVE-2020-12295, CVE-2020-12296, CVE-2020-12291, CVE-2020-12292, CVE-2020-12290, CVE-2020-12288, CVE-2020-12289.

  • Enhancement to addresses security vulnerabilities CVE-2020-8703, CVE-2020-8704, CVE-2020-24506 and CVE-2020-24507.

  • Enhancement to address security vulnerabilities CVE-2020-24512, CVE-2020-24511.

  • Fixes an issue when the system cannot rollback to older BIOS version when updating from F10 setup interface with custom URL.

  • Adds the feature IPv6 during UEFI Boot in F10 setup interface that allows disabling IPv6 during the preboot phase.

  • Fixes issue when Security Device Error message appears unexpectedly after Enable Power-on Password.

  • Supports camera and clickpad firmware update by Windows Update.

  • Fixes an issue when the system screen stops functioning when booting from network for the first time after changing the F10 setting Custom/System Address, and then Save/Exit.
