HP Elite Slice G2 - HP Cloud Recovery Tool Available Now

DESCRIPTION
Recovery files for HP Elite Slice G2 systems are now available using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool. Until now, the recovery files could only be obtained by ordering from HP.

SCOPE
The information in this document applies to the following:
  • HP Elite Slice G2 - Audio Ready with Microsoft Teams Rooms
  • HP Elite Slice G2 - Audio Ready with Zoom Rooms
  • HP Elite Slice G2 - Partner Ready with Microsoft Teams Rooms
  • HP Elite Slice G2 with Intel Unite
  • HP Elite Slice G2 with Microsoft Teams Rooms
  • HP Elite Slice G2 with Zoom Rooms

RESOLUTION
Previously, the only option for obtaining the restore files was to order media support kit L27484-B21 from HP. That option is still available, but now the image files can be downloaded using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool.
NOTE: This process creates a bootable USB flash drive and downloads the image to it. You must have a 32-GB (minimum) flash drive for this process.
CAUTION: The flash drive will be completely erased during the process. It if contains important data, copy that data to anther location to avoid losing it.
  1. Search for and download the HP Cloud Recovery Tool from the Microsoft Store.
  2. Locate and run HPCloudRecoveryTool.exe.
  3. When the HP Cloud Recovery Tool - InstallShield Wizard opens, click Next.
  4. Accept the terms in the license agreement, then click Next to install the tool.
  5. Click Start and type hp cloud.
  6. Right-click on the HP Cloud Recovery Tool, then select Run as Administrator.
  7. When the tool opens, click Next.
  8. Wait for the Setup to initialize.
  9. Check the option, I need to enter Product ID for my HP system.
  10. Enter this Product ID: 4ZE38AW#ABA, then click Next.
  11. Insert the USB flash drive (32-GB minimum).
  12. Select the USB flash drive for the image download.
