Samsung Laser Printers - Printer Will Not Print in DOS

If the printer is a GDI (Graphics Device Interface) printer, it cannot print in DOS (Disk Operating System) because it does not have the built-in hardware necessary to understand DOS ASCII codes. This is not a defect with the printer and there is no firmware available that allows the printer to print in DOS. To print in DOS, a PCL (Printer Control Language) printer is required.
If the printer prints for Windows programs but does not print for DOS programs, it is a GDI printer. It cannot print for DOS programs.
