HP 3005pr USB 3.0 Port Replicator - DisplayLink Driver for Windows 8.1

This document pertains to HP 3005pr USB 3.0 port replicators using the DisplayLink driver.
The display flickers or there is no network connection on the port replicator
Fix the LAN or flickering display issue using the HP 3005pr USB 3.0 port replicator.
When installing or uninstalling the DisplayLink driver, version 7.4.51572.0 (15 October 2013), from the DisplayLink website, the display works properly and there is no LAN connection from the port replicator.
When installing the DisplayLink driver, version 7.1.44304.0 (29 January 2013), from the HP website, the display flickers and the LAN connection works properly.
The DisplayLink driver version causes this issue. If connecting the port replicator using the last version of the DisplayLink driver from the DisplayLink website or from the HP website that does not include Windows 8.1 version, the display might have a flickering problem or a LAN issue.
Install the HP 3005pr USB 3.0 Port Replicator Driver
To resolve this issue, uninstall all existing DisplayLink drivers, and then update the driver to version 7.4.50520.0 or above.
Step one: Uninstall all existing DisplayLink drivers
Follow these steps to uninstall all existing DisplayLink drivers and install the version: 7.4.50520.0 (15 October 2013) or later compatible with Windows 8.1 (32-bit or 64-bit).
  1. Open Uninstall or change a program.
    • Windows 8
      1. Press the Windows + Q keys to open the Search charm menu with Apps selected.
      2. Type uninstall a program.
      3. From the list of results, click or tap Uninstall a program.
    • Windows 7
      1. Click Start .
      2. Click Control Panel.
      3. Under Programs, click Uninstall a program.
  2. From the list of programs, select the DisplayLink driver, and then click or tapUninstall.
  3. If the User Account Control window displays, click or tap Continue. , and then click or tap Yes to uninstall the driver.
  4. Close all Programs and Features, and then restart the computer.
Step two: Install the HP 3005pr USB 3.0 Port Replicator Driver
Follow these steps to install the HP 3005pr USB 3.0 Port Replicator Driver.
  note:
This package contains the video, audio, and network drivers for the HP 3005pr USB 3.0 Port Replicator.
  1. Download and then install the HP 3005pr USB 3.0 Port Replicator Driver (SP63952), and save it to a convenient location on your hard drive. Make a note of the location where the downloaded file is saved.
  2. Double-click the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.
  3. After the installation is complete, restart the computer.
