HP LaserJet Pro Printers - Auto-Off Delay Time is Too Short
This document is for HP LaserJet Pro P1102, P1102s, P1102w, P1106, P1108, P1109, P1109w, and P1606dn printers.
Issue
The product goes into sleep (Auto-Off) mode after a short period of idle time. When the product is in Auto-Off mode, all of the control-panel
LEDs and the power button backlight LED are off, but the control panel responds to commands and the product prints without delay.
Solution: Increase the Auto-Off delay time
Auto-Off is enabled by default and the default time interval setting is five minutes. Change Auto-Off
settings by selecting a time interval in the Auto-off after: drop-down menu. Disable Auto-Off by
deselecting Automatically turn off device after inactivity.
Windows
Access the Device Settings in Windows, and then increase the Auto-Off delay time.
Choose the method to open Device Settings:
Method one: from the Windows System Tray
Follow these steps to open the Device Settings from the System Tray.
In the Windows System Tray, right-click the Device Settings () icon, and then click your product name.

Click the Device Settings tab.
Locate the Auto-Off Console section of the screen.
Click the Down Arrow next to the Auto-Off after: drop-down menu, and then select the desired Auto-Off delay time.
Do not uncheck Automatically turn off device after inactivity, unless you want to disable Auto-Off mode.
Click the OK button.
Method two: from the Printer properties
Follow these steps to open the Device Settings from the Printer properties.
