There is a communication failure with one of the print cartridges. "X" indicates which cartridge: 0=black, 1=cyan, 2=magenta, 3=yellow.
  • Turn the product off and then on.
  • Verify that the print cartridge is installed correctly. Remove and reinstall the print cartridges.
  • If the error persists, replace the print cartridges.
  • If the error persists, contact HP. See www.hp.com/support/LJColorMFPM175 or the support flyer that came in the product box.
Black cartridge is low
The print cartridge is nearing the estimated end of its useful life.
Printing can continue, but consider having a replacement supply on hand.
