Synchronizing the HP Wireless Multimedia Keyboard and Mouse (NY420AA)

This document applies to Wireless Multimedia Keyboard and Mouse
The HP Wireless Keyboard and Mouse use a 27MHz connection. They are pre-synchronized to one channel and frequency. Follow the directions in the Quick Start Guide for easy setup.
note:
Placing the receiver on a metal surface or interference from other 27MHz devices can cause the receiver, keyboard or mouse to lose connectivity.
Before re-synchronizing the mouse and keyboard, make sure the receiver is plugged into the USB port on your computer.

Synchronize the mouse

If the mouse, keyboard, and receiver “unbind” and are no longer synchronized, complete the following steps:
  1. Make sure the batteries in the mouse are working and correctly inserted in the devices.
  2. Make sure the mouse is within ½ meter (19.5 inches) of the receiver.
  3. Press the connect button on the receiver. The light on the receiver begins to flash.
  4. Within 3 seconds, press the Connect button on the mouse. When the light on the receiver stops blinking, the mouse is synchronized.

Synchronize the keyboard

Next, re-synchronize the keyboard. The Connect button is red, and is located under the plastic tab on the back corner of the keyboard.
  1. Make sure the batteries in the keyboard are working and correctly inserted in the devices.
  2. Make sure the keyboard is within ½ meter (19.5 inches) of the receiver.
  3. Press the Connect button on the receiver. The light on the receiver begins to flash.
  4. Within 3 seconds, press the Connect button on the keyboard. When the light on the receiver stops blinking, the keyboard is synchronized.
