HP 7550A and 7550A Plus Plotters - Loading Paper

Issue:
How to load paper on the HP 7550 series plotters.
Solution
The plotters can load media automatically, and manually. Set up of both the HP 7550A and 7550 Plus plotters is identical. Both plotters size media automatically so there are no selections to set on the plotters for the different paper sizes. There are different media loading trays for the two plotters for the supported paper sizes.
Automatic mode
  1. To set automatic mode, press AUTO FEED to get an asterisk in the top-left corner of the display. (The "AUTO FEED" button is on the upper-left corner of the control panel.)
  2. Pull the media tray out of the plotter and put media into the tray so the media is under the metal tabs in the right and left corners of the tray. Do not overfill. Slide the tray back into the plotter.
  3. Press the LOAD/UNLOAD button to load paper. (The LOAD/UNLOAD button is on the lower-left corner of the control panel.)
Manual mode
  1. To load media manually, press AUTO FEED to remove the asterisk in the display.
  2. Insert A/A4 media with the short side against left edge of the platen and use the A/A4 mark on the platen to align the trailing edge. Insert B/A3 media with the long side against left edge of the platen and use the B/A3 mark on the platen to align the trailing edge.
  3. Press the LOAD/UNLOAD button to load paper.
