HP Designjet 1050c Plus, 1055cm Plus, 2500cp, and 3500cp Printers - Macintosh, Using ColorSmart
How the ColorSmart Vivid Business Graphics option affects the printed output on an HP Designjet printer. (This selection is found in the print options dialog box under the Color Management section.)
The ColorSmart color option is designed to over-saturate the colors on the printed page. This option should be used primarily with business graphics, such as charts, graphs, or computer created images. The idea behind the ColorSmart option with the HP Designjet printer is to make solid fills and colors appear more vibrant on the printed page. Because the printer will over-saturate colors with this option, the printed output will not match the colors shown on the computer's monitor. For best results, the ColorSmart option generally should not be selected when printing photographic or scanned images.
note:ColorSmart, as it applies to other HP color printers (such as the HP Deskjets, HP Deskwriters, or HP Color LaserJets), differs greatly from ColorSmart on the HP Designjet printer. Other HP color printers use a different ColorSmart technology that identifies each element on a page--text, simple graphics, or complex graphics such as photographic images--and automatically applies the appropriate color settings to each element as the page is printed. The ColorSmart technology that is used with other HP color printers is not applicable to the HP Designjet printer.
